South Australian parents, educators and providers are working together to ensure all SA parties are aware of the investment young children need to flourish.

We put a list of five key policy priorities to the five major parties and this is what they said:

The Labor Party

The Labor Party has committed to four and a half of our five key policy priorities! This is what they had to say:

“The South Australian Labor government shares your commitment to giving every child the opportunity to thrive and reach their potential.”

The Liberal Party has committed to four of our five key policy priorities! This is what they had to say:

“The importance of the early years in a child’s development is becoming increasingly well understood and a Marshall Liberal Government will work closely with the sector to ensure we get the best outcomes possible for our children and their families.”

The Greens Party

The Greens have committed to three of our five key policy asks in full, and have indicated general commitment to two. Here’s what they had to say:

“In a fair society, all families should have access to affordable, quality childcare. The Greens recognise early childhood education and care is crucial for a child’s development, and it is time for this to be properly funded.”

The Australian Conservatives have committed to three of our five key policy asks in full, and have indicated general commitment to two. Here’s what they had to say:

“The Australian Conservatives would support the incoming State Government…in making an ongoing commitment to at least maintain current total levels of funding for universal access to quality early education programs in the year before school across both the quality early education and long day care sectors to provide maximum flexibility and choice for families;”

“I have been advised by the campaign director, Connie Bonaros that SA-BEST met with you some weeks ago and that there was a consensus at the time that all of the commitments you were seeking were agreed to.”
