THE Nationals have extracted a $4 billion price tag from Malcolm Turnbull to guarantee Coalition unity following the political assassination of Tony Abbott.

As the new Prime Minister grappled with his first day in the job, the Nationals forced Mr Turnbull into signing a new and ­unprecedented agreement between the two Coalition parties.
